This year, City Year Greater Boston expanded its annual MLK Day of Service to a full week of service, honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy while maximizing the impact on schools and ����ֱ�� across Greater Boston. The MLK Week of Service began on Saturday, January 18th, and concluded on Friday, January 24th. Each day of the week featured a unique service event that united volunteers in making a difference for our shared community.����

The Full Week

Monday: Create & Donate

MLK Week of Service kicked off with Create & Donate, a flexible initiative that allowed volunteers to organize their own service activities, whether individually or with family and friends, in a way that best suited their schedules and needs. All kits were dropped of at the City Year office to be prepared to be distributed.

Tuesday: Mural Painting

Volunteers and City Year AmeriCorps members came together at Boston Collaborative High School to transform its walls with vibrant murals designed to inspire and motivate ����ֱ�� as they walk the halls each day. Check out the photos from the painting day !

Wednesday: Bulletin Boards & Brews

Volunteers gathered at The Point Boston for a special event that combined networking, good food and��beverages, and the chance to give back to Greater Boston schools by creating personalized bulletin boards designed to brighten hallways and spaces.��

Thursday: Pack-a-Palooza

Volunteers gathered at City Year Headquarters for a Pack-A-Palooza event, where over 100 volunteers packed thousands of kits filled with essential supplies for ����ֱ��, ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed in the classroom. View the full event gallery !

Friday: Delivery Day

The student supply kits packed at Pack-A-Palooza were delivered to ����ֱ��, teachers, and parents at the Orchard Gardens and Hennigan Schools. This marked a powerful and impactful way to close out MLK Week of Service, bringing the week’s efforts full circle. Find the final day of photos !��
